How to smash your goals.
Do you have a hard time achieving your goals? Do you tend to have new ideas, aspirations, intentions, and goals but have a hard time realizing them?
This is something many of us can relate to.
You have many great ideas. You start with tremendous motivation and excitement, but over time your enthusiasm goes down the drain, your excitement fades away, and you don’t follow through on your great ideas.
Those days are over. Keep reading to learn how to smash your goals, show up for yourself, and make your ideas a touch-it-taste-it reality.
I hope that sharing some of the steps I follow to smash my own goals will inspire you to destroy yours.
- Be crystal clear about your goal.
Know what it is you want to achieve. Please write it down in as much detail as possible. Make it very concise and specific. The more specific you can be, the better. The more precise your goals are in your mind, the more excited you become about achieving them.
- Set a deadline on your goal
Having a deadline gives you a sense of urgency. Without a definite deadline, it is easier for you to procrastinate and not get things done.
- Be rigid yet flexible in your approach.
Have a clear goal in mind but be flexible and find alternative ways to approach it. Be very open and receptive in the present moment to the continuous guidance that is available to you.
- Break down your goal in monthly, weekly, and daily goals
Make a list of everything that you are going to have to do to achieve your goal. Write down a plan of action. Organize your list by what you want to accomplish each month, each week, and every day.
- Create new habits
I am a massive fan of creating new habits and routines. What is the one thing you can do every day that moves you toward your primary goal? I am a firm believer in the 21/90 rule. It takes 21 days to create a new habit and 90 days to make it a lifestyle.
- Measure your success
Make some time to reflect on how you are doing. Set a moment aside every month, or perhaps every week, or days if you can. Review your goals and your progress as much as you can. Be honest with yourself. How did I do? How can I do better? What were the obstacles?
- Turn obstacles into opportunities.
I truly believe that within every obstacle lies an opportunity. You cannot avoid obstacles, but you can choose to focus your energy on the solution instead.
- Find Support
I am a big believer in support. Find one or two friends or family members who can support you, but not too many. Discuss your goals, progress, and obstacles with them regularly. You will need the support. It is beneficial if you have guidance and support to help you get there.
- Celebrate your accomplishments
Celebrating your accomplishments is a powerful motivator because it shows appreciation for all that hard work and achievements. This, in turn, boosts your self-esteem and motivates you to take the next step towards achieving your next goal.
I wish you much luck with your goals. Make sure to leave me some comments and let me know how you are smashing your goals. I would love to hear from you.
