What is this Buddha Bowl hype? Buddha Bowls are not only delicious but also a healthy, filling, and balanced meal. Here’s how to build your own Buddha bowl.
First of all, what is a Buddha Bowl
A Buddha bowl is a healthy bowl. It looks pretty beautiful and is super filling. It is in my opinion, nothing but a miracle in a bowl. They are my favorite easy-to-prepare-meal.
The formula is simple: Add healthy grains or starch, plant protein, and vegetables. It is a complete meal and an excellent idea for lunch or dinner.
Think of it as a jacked-up salad. The grains such as quinoa, brown rice, or noodles with plant protein such as tofu and colorful vegetables make it a super balanced meal.
The Buddha bowl goes back to the time of Buddha. Buddha would walk around his village with an empty bowl, and people would offer him all kinds of vegetarian food. It is a tradition kept among the monks.
The difference between a Buddha bowl and a Poke bowl
The only difference is that Poke bowls contain non-vegetarian foods such as tuna fish, and a buddha bowl consists mainly of vegetarian food.
