World Health Day is a day dedicated to promoting health & well-being. The question is, how can you dedicate an entire day to health & well-being. There are many ways you can do this. This article will list five simple ways to jumpstart your day for better health, a healthier lifestyle, and a healthier you.
World Health Day
On April 7th of every year, World Health Day, we are reminded of the importance of our health and living a healthy lifestyle.
World Health Day is celebrated every year since 1950 and is dedicated to bringing awareness to the importance of good health in our every day lives.
April 7th also marks the anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO), founded in 1948.
Five simple ways you can dedicate a day to health & well-being
FIRST WAY- How you can dedicate a day to health & well-being.
Food
Food is an essential source of health and well-being. Have you noticed how you feel after you eat a heavy meal or overeat instead of the way you feel when you eat a salad or a light meal? You feel dull and sleepy rather than feeling energetic and light.
Healthy food in the right amount is essential for the body to function effectively. A vegetarian diet is easier to digest and supports health and well-being. Organic, fresh, and unprocessed food are higher in energy than old or overcooked food.
Simply giving a little more attention to your diet on this day is the first way to dedicate a day to your health and well-being.
SECOND WAY – How you can dedicate a day to health & well-being.
Rest
How do you feel when you don’t get good enough sleep? Most likely, you feel tired; you may feel irritable or dull, right?
When you sleep too much, more than necessary, how do you feel? You probably also feel lethargic, and tired right?
It is essential to keep a proper balance between rest and activity. The right amount of sleep is vital to be efficient throughout the day. Most human beings need between 6-8 hours of sleep. But everyone is different. The key is to listen to your body and give it the rest it needs. While Albert Einstein slept for at least 10 hours every day, some yogis sleep for only 4 hours per day.
The second way you can dedicate a day to health and well-being is to listen to your body and give it the proper amount of rest.
THIRD WAY – How you can dedicate a day to health & well-being.
Breath
Your breath is your primary source of energy. You can go a few days without sleep or food, but could you go a few days without breath? You cannot go on more than a few minutes without breathing. The breath is vital to our very existence.
Breath is the first act of life and the last act of life. Between your first breath and the last breath, there is a consistent in and outflow of breath.
The breath is a powerful tool to bring your awareness back to the present moment. Because if you think of it, you are never breathing in the past or the future. You are always breathing in this moment; the present moment. By simply bringing your attention to your breath, you immediately guide your awareness back to the present moment.
Your breath is linked to your emotions. Have you observed how you breathe when you are angry? Short and fast, right? And what about when you are in love??
Through breathing exercises, you can improve the quality of your life. Today spend some time exploring some breathing exercises and learn to use your breath more skillfully for a day dedicated to health and well-being.

FOURTH WAY – How you can dedicate a day to health & well-being.
Happy & Meditative State of Mind
Have you noticed that when your mind is full of negative thoughts, such as worries or fear, you feel tired and drained? Your energy level goes down. And when the mind is more optimistic, filled with thoughts of love, enthusiasm, and happiness, your energy level goes up, and you feel more energetic.
Negative thoughts are exhausting. After an hour of complaining and gossiping, you feel worn out. On the other hand, when you listen to knowledge, something, or someone who inspires you, perhaps a poem or a song, you feel uplifted.
Meditation is the most profound rest the mind can get, and after such rest, the mind is naturally more cheerful, relaxed, and enthusiastic.
Today spend some time in meditation for a day dedicated to health and well-being.
