Have you ever looked at those Boss Babes who have their sh*t together and wondered how they manage to get so much done and make everything happen? We all have the exact same 24 hours in a day. So what is going on? Why are these Boss Babes able to balance yoga, meditation, and exercise while making massive income, at the same time out and about with girlfriends, looking all FAB, and married to the hottest dudes in town.
In other words, how do some people manage to stay so motivated and accomplish a whole lot more than others? Do they eat motivation for breakfast to keep going or what? And as far as I know there is no motivation pill you can get at the drugstore neither, but there are a few things you can do every damn day to kick yourself in the butt to stay motivated.
Here are 5 things to do every damn day to stay motivated.
- 1. WAKE UP EARLY
I started waking up in the wee hours just to have more space in my day so that I can have more time to squeeze in all the things I want to do, without feeling rushed or stressed.
Starting your day early gives you more time, which means you get more done, and as a result you can achieve a whole lot more in your life.
But beside all of that I have found that there is such magic in waking up early. There is so much peace, quietness and stillness between 4 and 7AM. After 7AM there is all kind of movement, cars honking, people talking, loud sounds, and it feels as if my mind joins all the movement, becoming more and more active with every minute.
And I have found that by spending the first few hours of my day in a peaceful state of mind sets the tone for a kickass motivated day.
- 2. DO YOUR SADHANA
Make some time to quiet your mind. By doing at least 10 minutes of yoga movements or stretches, some pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation can work wonders, it gets you in the right frame of mind, activates the prana (life energy force) in your body, and grounds you before you start moving through your day.
- 3. SWEAT A BIT
I personally like to go for a 10K run in nature and there is nothing that boosts my energy and motivation level more like a good sweat. It clears my mind. After my run I feel fit and energetic, focused and have this nothing-stops-this-B*tch-kinda-attitude.
Not everyone likes to go for a run but there are many exercises you can do to sweat a bit, you can take a spinning class, or there many different fitness classes, there is kick boxing, some people enjoy weight training (I wish I did), and there many other things you can do, just find something that you enjoy and get the adrenaline going!
- 4. MAKE YOUR PLANNER YOUR BEST FRIEND
To stay motivated and make things happen you have got to prioritize, schedule your to do list, block out your time, set the timer and get sh*t done.
Before I even mark my tasks in my planner I always asses it first. Is this in alignment with my purpose, my values and goals? If not, sorry dude we’ll get back to you later.
Own your planner and refuse to allow anything that is not worthy to consume it.
Once I know for sure that a task is worthy of my time and in alignment with my being here on this planet earth I write it in my planner. I am bit old fashioned and like to use a simple good old excel sheet. I blog out my time and if it is really necessary I set a timer.
I truly believe that the real big secret in managing your time is to be very vigilant of the way you spend your time and avoid distractions and wasting your time on unnecessary stuff. Honor your time, use it wisely and try to do as many meaningful activities as possible.
- 5. HUSTLE
Once you have identified your goals, break them down in small achievable goals. I like to break my goals in monthly, weekly and daily tasks. Turn off your phone if you can, and get to work. Stay focused. Be present and enjoy the journey. Focus on the end result while enjoying every step along the way. Make every step towards your goal an opportunity for growth.
And most importantly love what you do. Because when you are passionate about your work and you have fun while doing it nothing can stop you. And this is in my opinion the the top one of the 5 things to do every damn day to stay motivated as it is the most powerful motivational kick in the butt you can get. It doesn’t get any more motivating than this.
So here you have it, the 5 things to do every damn day to stay motivated.
- Wake up early
- Do your Sadhana
- Sweat a bit
- Make your planner your best friend
- Hustle
